Field Trip

A geological research trip was carried out, between June 7 and 9, by the team of Arizona Univ. and Kyushu Univ. The main members were isotope geoscience researchers: Prof. Quade, Dr. Dettman and Prof. Kano from our Faculty. They visited world-famous sites in thier academic field such as Aso and Hiraodai. Despite the bad weather with occasional flurries, both students and faculty members found it a precious oppotunity to reaffirm the importance of field work, viewing volcanic caldera and actually stepping into karst landscape. They spent some time in brainstorming on "Human agency throughout human history" to conclude this field work, which significantly meant to reinforce academic partnership of these two universities aiming to conduct integrated joint-researches.
