On October 22-23, Dr. Jenifer Larson-Hall from Kitakyushu University presented the class called “Statistical Program R”.

The first class of the second semester in 2018, was an exchange program with Motooka Elementary School in Fukuoka city titled “Talk about Asian cultures and diversities”.

“Multicultural coexistence and inbound tourism policy recommendation field work in Takeo City” was held for three days from August 27 to 29. This field work was planned by a student of the Future Asian Program named Yuka Yamaguchi and was held as a program class titled “Inbound tourism in Kyushu – think about the future of Asia from the provinces”.

This meeting was planned to inform the research contents and results of the students who were selected to receive financial support for the research trip in academic year 2017. Nine students who are engaging in various avenues of research (Department of sociology:3, Language education:1, Literature:1, Biology:4) presented their research results.

A training camp called “Intensive coaching for writing research proposals and applications for JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science)” was held in Karatsu. Seven students in both science and humanities joined the camp.

Students visited Uchihama Elementary School in Fukuoka city and experienced the educational environment for foreign children at school. They deepened their understanding regarding challenges the community is facing because of the increase of foreigners and the appropriate path for a multi-cultural society in the future.

“Designing ability” – thinking about inbound tourism in Kyushu – was held on Monday, July 9.

A seminar about “Communication Ability”: An important skill in society, was held on Friday, May 11th.

“Seminar for how to write research proposals” was held on Saturday, May 12th.

This is the last experience lecture organized for 2014 Kyushu university “Future Asia program” candidate students. The lecture was given by Mr. Koichiro Kita President and Representative Director of LbE Japan titled as “Definition of Global correspondence power”.
