The Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Global Society is a unique, interdisciplinary and international institution, offering a broad range of courses in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. Routine team-teach by faculty from different faculties creates a vibrant approach by knocking down disciplinary barriers.

Graduate students in the English-language International Programs can specialize in one of the six fields: Comprehensive Earth Sciences, Comprehensive Science of Biological Environment, International Cooperation, Security and Safety, Social Diversity and Coexistence, Language, Media and Communication, and Comprehensive East Asian and Japanese Studies. Subjects offered in these courses are as follows: Geology, Petrology, Mineralogy, Geophysics, Biological Diversity, Entomology, Molecular Evolution, Ecological Anthropology, Geography, International Relations, Political Science, History of Technology, Economic History, Business History, Cultural Anthropology, Gender Studies, Japanese Modern Literature, Chinese Literature, Communications Studies, Applied Linguistics, Japanese Language Education, Archeology, Biological Anthropology, Japanese History, Japanese Studies, and Asian Regional Studies.
